This Privacy Policy explains what information ShopForTerra ("we", "us") collects when you use shopforterra.com, how that information is used, and the choices you have. By using the site you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
Account information. When you register an account, we collect the email address you sign up with and any name you provide. We use this to authenticate your session and, if necessary, to contact you about your account.
Usage data. When you browse the site we record which products you click, which we use to calculate the affiliate revenue we earn and to display aggregate statistics on our Transparency and Dashboard pages. This click data is associated with activities on the site, not sold to third parties, and is not used to build personal advertising profiles.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and support third-party advertising. You can disable cookies in your browser, though doing so may affect site functionality.
Advertising and Google AdSense
This site displays ads served by Google AdSense and other advertising partners. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to our site and other sites on the internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or by visiting aboutads.info to opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising.
Third-party links and affiliate networks
Many product links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one, you leave shopforterra.com and visit a third-party retailer. Those retailers and the affiliate networks between us — including Amazon Associates, Awin, CJ Affiliate, Rakuten Advertising, and Impact — have their own privacy policies governing what they collect once you arrive. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites and encourage you to read their policies.
As an Amazon Associate, ShopForTerra earns from qualifying purchases made through Amazon affiliate links.
How we use information
We use collected information to operate and maintain the site, to measure which products are popular, to display aggregate (non-personal) statistics, to prevent abuse, and to send account-related communications where necessary. We do not use your information to build personal profiles that are sold to third parties.
Data retention and security
We retain account information for as long as your account is active. Aggregate, anonymized usage data may be retained indefinitely. We protect information with reasonable technical and organizational measures, but no method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure.
Children's privacy
ShopForTerra is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information by contacting us. You can decline analytics and advertising cookies through your browser settings or the opt-out links above; declining advertising cookies will not prevent the site from functioning.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or legal obligations change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
